Facility Services Supervisor

Job Description and Requirements

JOB SUMMARY

Supervise work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive rooms in hospital. Assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding housekeeping services and equipment and take corrective action.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure Assigned workers perform their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness by conducting routine round in the staff deputed areas.
  • Advise Housekeeping Services Supervisors to resolve day to day matters.
  • Coordinate activities for major works related to environmental services.
  • Liaise with Maintenance Senior Supervisor for expedite repairing for critical areas, patient rooms and other patient services area and for urgent requests.
  • Manage Conducting orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to manage demonstration on use and operations of equipment.
  • Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Evaluates records to estimate department personnel requirements.
  • Ensure daily use environmental services cleaning equipment are in order and generate a work order for repair and coordinate with Maintenance Senior Supervisor for urgent items’ repairing.
  • Makes recommendations to improve environmental services and ensure more efficient operation.
  • Conduct daily round in at least 5 vacant patient rooms in a day and raise work order for appropriate corrective action and approach Maintenance Senior Supervisor for Patient Need Urgent Requests.
  • Attends staff meetings to discuss company policies and patrons' complaints.
  • Actively involves in indicator development, data collection for the department.
  • Participate in hospital Safety Management & Risk Management Programs.
  • Actively reports incidents in the system and whenever needed, participates in incident review, and root cause analysis.
  • Performs any other duties within the range of his/her competence, as directed by the Department Manager.

Education & Work Experience Requirements

  • Two years previous experience as an environmental / housekeeping services supervisor in a reputed company.
  • Experience in a healthcare company.

Specialized Knowledge/Experience/Skills

  • Good Command of oral and written English & Arabic
  • Good Communication skills to deal with multinational workforce.
